We sat in this spot for a while. Beautiful day.
I found myself imagining things 50 years ago. Very scary to think about but it's important not to forget. I found this place very difficult, I can't imagine if I were Jewish.
Reminded me of Cambodia.
I want to go to Aushwiz, it's only an hour or so away. I have to prepare for that though, I know it will be intense.
Being in this country brings all these horrors to life. I can't for the life of me believe all this happened, but I know it did.
Those who say the holocaust is a myth are really idiots. There are buildings all around this area. Believe me, if the Polish people could they would use this land and build. They won't though because it is a cemetery.
I know this happened over 50 years ago but the vibe is still here. How in the world did the Germans allow this to happen? I know the history but it's different when you are standing here. There are always programs on television, documentaries about the war. Today I saw one on the invasion of Poland. The Germans not only went after Jews but Many Polish people. They killed police men, teachers, land owners...anyone who was educated. They wanted a land of "obedient labour". To terrorize the Polish people they also took random prisoners. Anna was saying one of her aunts who is still alive was in a concentration camp. They did tests on her, as a result she could never have children. What they did was pick her street out of a hat. Everyone who lived there was shipped off.
